NPFL DAY 7: THE SUN WENT DOWN IN JOS AS SUNSHINE FC WERE HUMILIATED BY PLATEAU UNITED

Today on NPFL match day 7, the sun refuse to shine on the sunshine stars and the stars were blacked out by a brace from Tosin Omoyele and others. The five goals ensure burial of Sunshine stars. The defending champions Plateau United have been ruthless in their 2018 title defense and this demolition of Sunshine Stars is a sounding statement.

Tosin Omoyele started the season on a slow note but gradually the former Osun United forward have come out of obscurity to be a shining light for the Kennedy Boboye led team. Now the team is sitting on the second position of the table which means the throne is not secured yet.

Duke Udi and his Akure based team will have to prove that their defensive strategies are sound in subsequent games. The team cannot be rated as a financially bouyant team because they were in the news before the season began for financial instability.

Sunshine Stars of Akure are still positioned fifth despite their loss and are only four point behind Plateau United who are currently occupying the second position behind Akwa United of Uyo.
