It will be a miracle not deserved if Chelsea end up qualifying for Champions League. I have seen a lot of people criticize Antonio Conte but I haven't seen him done badly.

The truth is Chelsea overachieved last season. Last season, Conte was able to bring the best out of the very average likes of Moses, Alonso, Cahill etc. Luck which has seem to desert us this season was on our side a lot of times and we had a lot going our way. So where did we get it wrong? I will lay the blame of the board and every other decision makers at Chelsea. We had a very shambolic transfer window with a lot of wrong decisions.

Matic was one of our most important player last season, he was surprisingly sold and replaced with the mediocre Bakayoko. Drinkwater is average, Zappacosta is not better than the average Victor Moses. Rudiger has been the most impressive of all our new guys, yet he is not exceptional. Bringing in Oliver Giroud got me thinking if this is Chelsea. Even club record signing Alvaro Morata was a downgrade on the player he replaced. The Spain international is a classy player but he is no Diego Costa.

We needed a lot of upgrade on last season to maintain success this year. Our decisions ended up weakening Chelsea. If we would be sincere, we should not expect nothing exceptional this season. A lot of money needs to spent rightly to resuscitate this team but Chelsea wants to redevelop Stamford bridge and just maybe.

There are too many unknowns at Chelsea right now and those unknowns are threatening an uncertain future.
